New Properties to Rent

Who can forget that dreadful weekend in early February, when Storm Ciara sent us winds gusting up to 60mph, and not just for a couple of hours but for more than 24hrs, causing many a branch to part company with its tree.

We woke on Sunday morning to find that a large branch belonging to the oak tree that has long stood by the side of the clubhouse at the Bowls Club on Rectory Lane had come down. We were greatly relieved to discover that most of the branch had miraculously missed the roof by inches and come to rest on the paving slabs in front of the clubhouse. Of greater concern though, was whether there had been any lasting damage to the sacred turf. Although some parts had fallen on the green, thankfully only superficial damage had occurred.

There then followed a couple of weeks to ensure the fallen branch and others, that were still part of the tree, were OK and wouldn’t cause any problems in the future. It was thanks to the expert skill of Johnson Treecare of Markfield, that work was soon under way and everything was made safe. The smaller branches were shredded into wood chips, but what to do with the larger items, of which there was plenty? A sizeable amount went to stoke the fires of local wood burners. But not all, and it is thanks to ‘Storm Ciara Developments Inc.’ that, following a successful design and planning phase, new rental properties have been created and installed and are now available to the residents of Market Bosworth and the surrounding area to rent.

These new ‘Des Res’ properties comprise of a low-cost AirBnB as well as a multi-roomed Bug Hotel.

Properties are available to view, being just a wing beat away from the Square. Allocation will be on a first come first served basis. All properties have been Covid-19 sanitised ready for immediate occupation.
